I got my start in professional software development in the lead up to the millenium, working with software to control and optimise industrial robotics. Since then I’ve specialised in software to track food through the production chain, from where it starts life, to where it becomes a customer product ready to go to the supermarket or be exported. I’ve worked with fishing companies, meat works, honey producers, vegetable and shellfish processors. It means I get to work with some funky tech, like satellite comms and RFIDs, and some not so funky tech like barcodes and legacy systems. I’m agnostic when it comes to working in with tech. If it’s the best thing to do the job required, it’s OK with me!

I have an Information Science degree from Massey University, with a double major in Computer Science and Information Systems. If you want to know what the difference is between those two fields, drop me a line and I’ll let you know!
